My Personal Research Journey

I have not totally decided on a topic for research. I have however narrowed it down to two topics.

  • Technology in the classroom-Pros and Cons
  • Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum for early Childhood- Which one is best
I have chosen these two because i am no longer allowed to use technology in my classroom but I feel that my children learned so much while we did use it. As for curriculum, I do not feel that the curriculum that I am using is best and would like to find one that better suits the needs of early childhood children.

I will have to choose only one topic. Let me ask you which one you think I should do?

    Hello,

    Great Post! There is a great need for both of these ventures in terms of educational research. It is of great value as far as impacting young students. The topic of technology in the classroom is also a huge benefit because out would is growing so fast with technological advances.

    You have two great topics to research. Personally, I am researching the affects of play in early childhood education because it has just about been taken completely out of our schools because of trying to ready the children for the upcoming Common Core curriculum. In my opinion, you should research the Pros and Cons of Technology in the classroom, simply because it has been taken away from you. I know that everyone feels that technology is taking physical activity away from children when in fact technology is our children’s future. Of course, everything we do it should be done in moderation. Maybe you could argue the fact of allowing it so many days per week because technology is the era that our children live in today and they should be able to understand and use it fluently.

    Either topic you choose you cannot go wrong. Technology is tricky…any more there is hardly time allowed for play so computer time is a no go for us. Florida has implemented such strict standards on our classrooms and teachers. Any available time goes directly to play. Curriculum is a good one too. It just depends on your personal preference.

    Hello Stacey,
    I would chose the topic of technology in the classroom. I like the topic because I am a tech nerd and I have often found that young children learn better when technology is used in the classroom.
